Scooli exists to give teachers their time back
We're cutting the repetitive work out of lesson preparation and bringing together a community that often works alone — with the teacher always in control of the final result.
It started with the teachers around us
What we saw
Teachers close to us reaching the end of the day with classes taught and meetings done — and still facing an evening of lesson plans, worksheets and tests. Evenings and weekends with family disappearing into work that repeats, week after week.
The question
We're two young Portuguese engineers, Miguel and Pedro. When generative AI started showing what it could do, the question became obvious: why doesn't that time go back to the people who teach? The usual answer — "just use ChatGPT" — fell short: it didn't know the Portuguese curriculum, the Aprendizagens Essenciais (Portugal's national curriculum standards), Decree-Laws 54/2018 and 55/2018, or the document format a teacher actually uses.
Scooli
So we built Scooli: made in Portugal, for Portuguese teaching, with AI doing the mechanical work and the teacher keeping the final decision. The goal has stayed the same since day one — give time back to the people who teach. And to their families.

Take the heaviest part of teaching off your plate
AI should be practical, useful and respectful of the teacher's role. And the mission doesn't stop at automation: we want a community where teachers find a solid starting point and feel less alone in the work.
Give teachers their time back
Cut the repetitive work out of lesson prep so more time goes to teaching, following students and adjusting what actually matters in the classroom.
Build a community, not just a tool
Teaching is often solitary work. Scooli also wants to bring teachers closer together through the community library and the sharing of useful materials.
Build for Portugal, specifically
The language, the examples and the way Scooli works are designed around teachers, schools and the curriculum in Portugal.
Who's building Scooli
Two software and AI engineers, a growth lead and a teacher as pedagogical advisor — building Scooli in direct contact with Portuguese teachers.
